Gather up some empty cardboard rolls, and have the kids make a bunch to hang on the Christmas tree.If you’re looking for an absolutely for your kids to make this year, you have to try these toilet roll reindeer! They’re quick and easy to make, and I think they’re one of the cutest homemade Christmas ornaments the kids have ever made here in my home daycare.Wouldn’t it be fun to make these after watching like Rudolph or Annabelle’s wish? We’ve made over the years, but I think these reindeer might be the cutest yet. These reindeer are easy to make! Here’s what you’ll need to make them: Toilet roll reindeer supplies:. toilet roll tubes (or paper towel rolls, wrapping paper rolls etc.). brown wallpaper samples (you could use sand paper or brown paint). red artificial berries or red, buttons etc.
glueWallpaper sample books: a thrifty craft supplyYes, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again! Wallpaper sample books are awesome when you’re crafting with kids. The colours, patterns and textures are great for so many projects, and it beats buying expensive scrapbooking paper. Just ask at your local paint and paper shop if they have any expired wallpaper books that they could part with. My store here usually hands me over 4 or 5 books at a time, happy that they don’t have to pay to dispose of them in the trash. How we made our toilet roll reindeer:We cut our toilet rolls in half and covered them with a brown wall paper sample. Alternatively, you could paint yours toilet roll or cover it with a piece of brown felt or sandpaper)Then I poked a hole in each side of the top of the tube for the hooligans to slide their pipe cleaner “antlers” through. For the noses, we used some artifitcial berries that were on a wire.
We poked that wire through a hole in the front of the tube, and bent the wire inside the tube, to hold the nose in place. Then we glued our eyes in place, and attached a ribbon for hanging.Aren’t they adorable?More Reindeer Crafts for Kids:Get 3-5 Playful Preschool e-Book!25+preschool activities by 25 bloggers, 10 printables, 50 links to activities not featured in the book all for $8.99!Follow the Hooligans on.
